Subject: FLASH: OT: AMD Athlon for FLASH work, and other MM and adobe products

This is marginally on topic so please don't beat me up, but I know quite a
few of the professional flash developers on this list should have some input
in this.

I'm building a second PC as my work PC has just got too many cards in it
being a music workstation and a graphics one too, so I'm going to build
another PC (ok you mac guys, sorry but I'll buy a G4 later ;o) )

I'm going to run NT SP5 on at as running 98 I can't run dreamweaver,
photoshop, flash and a web browser at the same time without getting OS
warnings about system resources being a 90% usage. (I have 512MB installed!)
(at work I run the world on a thinkpad with NT and it doesn't complain).

I was thinking of building an AMD Athlon 700MHZ running NT4.0 workstation
probably 512MB ram, a matrox G400 twin head the usual by way of floppy, CD
rom etc.. I was wondering if anyone is running NT on an Athlon for FLASH
work (also photoshop, dreamweaver etc.) and are you happy with
stability/performance. I could go Pentium III, but reading the media it
seems the athlon is faster for the price and has not had compatibility
issues. Feedback would be appreciated. (I'm thinking of getting the Asus K7M
board as its seems to be the fastest with the athlon under NT)

Thanks in advance,

Grant
