Hi Neil.  How 'bout an actionscript?  If that would do, Robert Bleeker

wrote one that's posted at http://i-technica.com/flash/flashlist.html

(search on URLEncoding)  There are also some actionscript url encoding

routines in the asp chat example that comes in the Sample Pages

directory of your Flash directory.
