I don't disagree with the thrust of your message, but did you search
Macromedia's TechNotes for Cyrix incompatibilities, as I mentioned in the
message you were responding to? They have occurred. Here is the most
significant URL:
Dreamweaver 3 does not run on certain Cyrix machines:

Though not the most earth-shattering of issues, I still think it's worth
investigation before buying a machine which uses a chipset different than
the one listed in the system requirements of the software you use to make
your living.

I have had Cyrix, AMD, and Intel. I have not had a problem with
any of them, in fact, I do the majority of my development on an Athalon
desktop and an Intel laptop.
