FLASH: win2k swf sound crackles-BAD!

anyone else got this problem?

  i installed win 2000 last week and it doesn't 'crash...

  everything is just fine except the sound in the flash authoring enviroment

and .swf player is really bad... terrible crackling noises during playback.

  macromedia says they have no clue.

  creative [sound blaster live/value] just released new drivers, they locked

this machine up so bad i had to uninstall them using 'safe mode'.

  other sound apps work fine.

  this machine is an AMD k-62 400, diamond 770/32meg/video, 128 meg/ram and

plenty of free disk space = 6gig free.

  please help,
