Most of the Flash/ColdFusion stuff I do uses CF behind the scenes,
i.e., to evaluate data templates and return raw data as variables.
Basically, it's just bringing in dynamic data into flash and either
displaying it, or making decisions based upon the that data.

For a good example of that type of site, check out shockfusion.com.
It uses php for its data generation.

As for your design/ideas, a good place to start is by loading static
text variables into Flash. Then once you get a hang of that, it's
only a matter of changing that static text file into a dyanically
generated variable file and loading those instead.

Whether you use php, asp, cf, or any other cgi, it's basically the
same as loading variables from a text file -- only these variables
are returned by a data template after some kind of processing.
