Sure, but also bear in mind that the TV in the living room is a form of
family entertainment. You can't start using it to surf Dijon mustard
suppliers in the middle of Corrie. If TVs are to be used as internet
terminals then it implies using/buying TV No 2, 3, in some other place.
If you want to look at other appliances connecting to the internet, look at
kitchen appliances that can be used to order or self-order groceries,
service calls, etc.
That TV is becoming interactive beyone teletext is certain. That for many
people the TV is easier to use, might be a reason to expect more internet
access via the TV, were it not for the fact that these people still can't
programme their video.
There's no more room for any more boxes in the TV cabinet. Interactive TV
won't be big until the integrated sets become established, and then the
issue will be who gets to hold the handset, and do the kids get one new set
each for their bedrooms or do they have to share one?
